Wandering
03:36
|
|||
Can't seem to stop my mind from wandering
Sometimes I don't know where it's gone
Like Frank and Sid, I'll just do it my way
The seventh lane on a six-lane highway
Heading in to a roundabout
With no way out
Cause I just can't seem to stop my mind from...
There it goes again
I think I'll take a walk along the avenue
And watch the leaves fall one by one
Kick the leaves along the ground
The way they make that shufflin' sound
Starts me thinkin' 'bout the time
When you were mine
Oh I wish that I could stop my mind from wandering
It takes me places I don’t wanna go
If I could feel that eternal sunshine of that spotless mind
I’d forget 'most everything I know
Can't seem to stop my mind from wandering
And it always ends up just the same
No matter how much I try to
Leave the past behind and forget you
I just close my eyes and then I see your face again
And I just can’t seem to stop my mind from...
There it goes again

When You Are Old
04:07
|
|||
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

All In My Heart
07:50
|
|||
Why do I feel the way I feel when you are near?
Why do my thoughts become confused?
What is this fear?
My hands are moist, my tongue is tied
I try to run and hide
But something deep inside me keeps me here
And as the daylight fades away, another night
I lie awake - how much more can I take?
Why do I fight?
This mixed emotion that I feel
I know that it’s not real
Even while it’s tearing me apart
It’s all in my heart
It’s not really happening
Illusions that love can bring
That make you feel everything
It’s all in my heart
Sometimes I hear of how sincere a love can be
Such love, it seems, of poems and dreams, is not for me
I see the sun, I hear the rain
I know what’s real, I feel the pain
But with you I just don’t know how to start
It’s all in my heart
It’s not really happening
These feelings that love can bring
That you can do anything
It’s all in my heart
It’s tearing my world apart

Trees
06:01
|
|||
I heard about a tree that died
It stood in poisoned ground
A hundred years before it fell
It barely made a sound
I know it's just a tree
But it's so plain to see
The falling of a tree
It wasn't meant to be
It lost its leaves in autumn’s cold
The way that some trees do
But when the warmth of springtime came
No leaves on that tree grew
There used to be a silver mine
Such riches there were found
But the runoff and the tailings spread
And soaked into the ground
I know it's just a tree
But it's so sad to see
The falling of a tree
It wasn't meant to be
We take all that the earth can give
With nothing in return
The signs are all around us now
What lessons do we learn?
I know it's just a tree
But still it hurts to see
The falling of a tree
That wasn't meant to be

Just One Oasis
11:25
|
|||
Out in a lonely desert storm
The sand blowing in my eyes
No water soothes my throat
As the sun burns in the sky
Don’t let it be too many days
’til I’m where you are
Don’t let me ride
Too far
I’ve searched for many years
But the dunes are all I find
Just one oasis
Will give me peace of mind
Don’t let it be too many days
Till I’m where you are
Don’t let me ride
Too far
Just to see
To be near you
All I need to
Come to be new
I am near you
I can see you
I can see you
Down in the city streets
Where the bright lights burn my eyes
So many searching
For a glimpse of paradise
Don’t let it be too many days
Till I’m where you are
Don’t let me ride
Too far

Land Of Milk And Honey
09:52
|
|||
Once I thought that I was living in a land of milk and honey
I would see the world each morning with a rose in my eyes
I had everything, I had a shiny car, I had my money
I had my house upon the hill, looking down toward the sea
I would look out from my window and see all the little people
Such a pity that they couldn’t be as fortunate as me
But, I told myself, there has to be some higher than the others
And after all, I worked hard for all the riches that were mine
Then one day while looking in the glass to trim my greying whiskers
The face that should have been mine started laughing at the face that was
I saw the golden edges of my mirror flake and turn to paper
I saw the walls crack and the diamonds on my fingers turn to stone
And after all the house had crumbled into pieces all around me
The mirror stood alone and laughed to see me naked of my wealth
The walls that used to hold me safe inside can hide the world no longer
Now my eyes can see in ways that they have never seen before
My veil of gold has fallen down, now I see myself so clearly
And I can see that I am just the same as everyone
Whether made with your own hand or by accident of birth
All the wealth at your command does not define your worth
Share it round and soon you’ll see there's plenty here for all
Spread it far and wide, my friends, or surely man will fall
The time has come to take control of the story that we're in
Or the ages of living will come to an end and the age of survival begin

Flowers
04:27
|
|||
Once there was a time you gave me Flowers
Everywhere I go now I see Flowers
Walking 'round the market place, I'm happy in my way
And then I
Then I look at
Flowers
Even in my sleep now I see Flowers
I don't have the time to keep those Flowers
It used to be by any name a rose was just a rose
But now I
I can't look at
Flowers
Love is like a flower, it blossoms and it grows
Looking at me now you’d think that I've been
Plucked and left to dry and wilt away
I'm a dying
Flower
Once there was a time you gave me Flowers
Everywhere I go now I see Flowers
How can I avoid the painful memories they bring?
I guess I'll
Never look at
Flowers
Flowers in my sleep and I don't have the time to keep those Flowers

Friday Night
05:36
|
|||
The week has ended now we’re winding down (This is the time for fun)
We pile in the car and head in to town (The night has just begun)
The cars are cruising all around the streets (They stretch right out of sight)
The crowd is watching they can feel the heat (This is our Friday night)
(Such a crazy part of town) The engines sound their loudest call
(Never gonna let you down) And the people cheer them all
(‘Round here all the people know) As the cars are rolling past
(There’s no better place to go) We’re all cheering to the last
It was so fine
In seventy-nine
Oh what a time it was
There’s a bar down at the end of the block (The doors are open wide)
There’s someone in there playin’ Eagle Rock (And so we move inside)
The place is jumpin’ and the music’s loud (The dancefloor’s oh so tight)
We push our way in and we join the crowd (This is our Friday night)
(Sliding round the crowded floor) We’re trippin’ in the coloured lights
(Dance until our feet are sore) It may be wrong but it’s so right
(Buy a drink and dance some more) Another drink another dance
(This is what the night is for) The music has us in a trance
It was so fine
In seventy-nine
Oh what a time it was
Three in the morning and we’re feelin’ beat (And now it’s time to go)
Head for the exit and we hit the street (The early morning glow)
Danced up an appetite and comin’ down (Here in the rising light)
Pepe’s Pizza it’s the best around (This is our Friday night)
(Life was so much simpler then) And now it’s been so many years
(Wish it was that way again) In that time we had no fears
(Back when we were young and free ) We never knew what lay ahead
(That’s just how it’s meant to be) We just enjoyed the life we lead
Cause it was so fine
In seventy-nine
Oh what a time…

The Force Of Nature
12:04
|
|||
The wind blows through your hair
With no regard for the work you put in
And as the oceans rise
The planet cries
How long, how long can we go on
Singing the same old song
To you
You who have been here longer than we
Building mountains, filling seas
Trying every way you can
To survive the will of man
Now, we see but it’s too late
You can't beat
The force of nature
Now it comes
The power of Gaia
Now it comes
Now it comes
We live as in a dream
Immortal, Safe
or so it would seem
But how will we survive
Anthropocene
We see, we know the warning signs
Can we turn ‘round
Or are we out
of time
Time to wake up and finally see
Time to convince the powers that be
Time to repair what we have done
Use the tides, the wind, the sun
Time to replant a billion trees
Revive the land, the air, the seas
Time to make all our leaders see
They can’t beat
The force of nature
Now it comes
The power of Gaia
Now it comes
The force of nature
Now it comes
The power of Gaia
Now it comes
Now it comes
Earth does not belong to us
We belong to earth
This we know.

Life’s Suite
~ Life Begins ~
(Instrumental)
~ Life Support ~
Life is just a ball
It goes nowhere at all
Without someone to push it
Along
And life can be a strain
With all its pleasures
And its pain
As it plays a merry game
With you
So as we stumble down this road
We can share our heavy load
And we do our best to be our best
Until the end
And
When you close our eyes
It’s then you realize
That through it all
You gave our all
You pushed that ball
Along
~ Life Passes ~
Say you'll stay
Say you'll stay
Say you'll stay with me
~ Life's Mysteries ~
I remember when I was ve ry young
Sitting with my father on the front steps
Looking to the sky
We watched as the stars came out
Shining through as the blue sky grew ever darker
He pointed out the stars
The constellations
Told me their names
Centaurus
Aquarius
Orion
And the Southern Cross
We watched as satellites drifted slowly
across the Milky Way
I had so many questions
How many stars are there?
How big is the universe?
My father stared upwards for a few minutes
Maybe he was counting
Or trying to see the most distant star
Then still gazing at the sky, he said
"You can't ask those questions. They'll make you crazy."
~ Life’s Challenges ~
As I'm standing here
In the morning light
There's a growing fear
Something is not right
Could it be within?
Or is my fear without?
Some would call it fate
Some would cast it out
~ Life Choices ~
And so, what will I be
Am I the old man
Or the sea
The woodsman
Or the tree
Or just me
When cards are dealt
When dice are shaken
Do we define
The road we’ve taken?
And when all is said and done
Is it done?
~ Life In The Fast Lane ~
Living life is easy when you know which way to go
Aim your arrow high and let it go
You've got energy to burn
Loving life at every turn
Still there's so much more to learn
On this one way trip, there's no return
~ Life Goes On ~
All that you have
And all that you see
One for you
And one for me
Anyone can play
All that you make
And all that you do
One for me
One for you
In the end you'll see
We will all be free
